House of the Rising Sun Show
The Western frontier was rugged and harsh and often times not too friendly for the women of the
west. Largely outnumbered and with few jobs available to them, most resorted to being teachers, clerks, mothers, wives and more
socially respectable professions. Some of them however chose to use their womanly
charms in order to make a living. These women or "soiled doves" could be seen working throughout the saloons and
bordellos of the American West.
Some chose this life not of their own free will, but were subjected to it by family members as a
means of raising much needed cash to pay for food, liquor or in some of the worst cases, the basic necessities
of life.
The House of the Rising Sun is the story of a young girl who against her will and that of her mother, is sold
by her own father to a saloon hall madame to join her stable of girls offering their sexual charms for the cowboy
with the right price. Two very seperate worlds collide and the young girl is forced into a life not of her choosing
and the results are explosive! and the consequences are severe.
The Arizona Gunfighters recreate this historic tale with a professional costumed cast of over 30
gunfighters. For more information on booking this show or any of our other historic re-enactments, click here.
